This 60,000 m\u00b2 complex can store approximately 75 million kilograms of chocolate, requiring a constant temperature of 18 \u00b0C. To achieve this efficiently and sustainably, an advanced building management system (BMS) from Jansen Sumi Smart Solutions was installed. We would be pleased to tell you more about it.   <\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-white-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.groupjansen.com\/uploads\/2024\/12\/4-Aerial-depth-view-of-admin-building-warehouse-and-high-bay-of-The-Barry-Callebaut-Chocolate-Box-credits-Barry-Callebaut-1-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Barry Callebaut\" class=\"wp-image-18687 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-spacing-extra-small wp-block-paragraph\">Barry Callebaut, a world leader in chocolate and cocoa products, needed a logistics hub for the international distribution of its products. A tender was issued in 2018. A few years later, the doors opened to &#8216;The Barry Callebaut Chocolate Box&#8217;, the world&#8217;s largest chocolate warehouse. This complex building meets the highest sustainability requirements and was the first logistics building to receive a BREEAM Outstanding certificate.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-spacing-extra-small wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-secondary-200-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-spacing-none has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-529930714bb394b561e4d8e6260552c8\" style=\"color:#bf0322\"><strong>Advanced Technology for Perfect Temperature<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-spacing-extra-small wp-block-paragraph\">&#8216;The Barry Callebaut Chocolate Box&#8217; includes not only a traditional 50,000 m\u00b2 warehouse, but also a 41-meter fully automated high-bay warehouse with 10,000 m\u00b2 of storage space. Temperature control is crucial for chocolate storage. Wannes van Rysselberghe, Logistics Manager at Barry Callebaut, emphasizes its importance: &#8220;Our HVAC system is therefore integrated with a smart BMS. The system adjusts heating and cooling based on external factors such as outdoor temperature and sunlight. &#8220;The integration of various technologies in one building made this project challenging. The initial results were already very promising, and a year after implementation, it was found that the PV installation covers almost 50% of the energy demand. This led to a 10% saving on energy costs, and the investment was quickly recouped,&#8221; say Dries De Groote and Jo Deceuninck of Jansen Sumi Smart Solutions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-spacing-extra-small wp-block-paragraph\">The user-friendly BMS is intuitive and provides a 3D visualization of warehouse performance. Problems can be quickly detected and resolved.
