OVAL opts for creativity

7 Nov 2025
From a completely stripped building to a creative hotspot: Group Jansen delivered the brand-new office for OVAL, the renowned communication agency, in the heart of Antwerp. The Result? A Vibrant Work and Meeting Space that Inspires, Connects, and Challenges.

Commissioned by OVAL and in collaboration with design studio Going East, Group Jansen took charge of the complete renovation of the office on Mechelsesteenweg. “The existing building was completely stripped and rebuilt, with attention to detail, experience, and of course design. The result: a contemporary environment where employees, clients, and partners come together in an atmosphere that breathes creativity,” opens Jane Seynaeve, Hospitality Manager at OVAL.

The OVAL office covers 550 m² and offers space for open workspaces, inspiring meeting rooms, a beautiful auditorium, an atmospheric kitchen, and a terrace with a view over all of Antwerp. Almost everything is custom-made furniture. And the walls from Jansen Wall Solutions not only guarantee aesthetics but also acoustic comfort in every space.

“With OVAL, we are creating a new concept, instead of the classic office spaces,” Jane further explains. “We want to be a place where not only work is done, but we open our doors to the community and offer a lively space for connection and creativity. And with a beautiful view. So, anyone looking for an inspiring place for a meeting or workshop can now come to us.”

As the main contractor, Group Jansen coordinated the entire renovation, from site setup and demolition to roofing, interior finishing, technical installations, custom furniture, and painting. “Our specialists were responsible for the implementation of HVAC, plumbing, fire-resistant doors, and all technical aspects, always in close collaboration with OVAL and architect Going East,” adds Sarai Bervoets, CCO at Group Jansen.

“Despite a challenging timeline, quality remained central at every moment. We consciously chose raw materials like stainless steel, plywood, and steel to enhance the characteristic architecture of the 1960s building,” says Sarai. “The architect’s design was truly out of the box: no standard finishes or furniture, but unique custom solutions. For example, we built the entire stage in the auditorium ourselves. The design & build aspect was central to this project. Together with the architect, we fine-tuned many concepts on-site until they were just right.”

“From the very first conversations, we felt an enormous drive from Group Jansen to help realize this unique project. That shared passion ensured that we decided to work together. The collaboration itself was very personal and transparent. That really made the difference for me. Every day when I arrive here, it’s with a big smile,” concludes Jane.
