Use your energy wisely
with J’Smart

Solar panels, charging stations, heat pumps, batteries, HVAC, … as a business, you have a wide range of energy sources and consumers. But do they work together as a single system? Probably not. And that’s costing you money.

J’Smart connects all energy sources and consumers and manages them centrally. With smart energy management, you can smooth out your peaks, lower your bill, and get more out of the capacity you already have.

Does this sound familiar?

A brief spike can have long-lasting effects

A single 15-minute peak period costs you a whole year’s worth of capacity charges. You’re paying for a peak you never actually needed.

Your systems aren’t working in sync

Solar panels, batteries, charging stations, HVAC: they’re all there, each with its own control system. No one is monitoring the entire system.

Expanding your network is limited by your connection

Additional charging stations or a new production line? The grid operator charges a hefty fee for grid upgrades, with long wait times and grid congestion to boot. Or, in some cases, an upgrade isn’t even possible anymore.

“In most buildings, the solution isn’t more capacity, but using what’s already there more efficiently.”

Jo Deceuninck, COO of Business & Solutions at Jansen Smart Solutions

The Green Deal is making its mark on your building(s)

Europe is accelerating its transition toward climate neutrality, and this is translating into concrete requirements for non-residential buildings. Those who invest in smart control systems now will automatically be in compliance later. Those who wait will end up investing twice.

2025

EPC is required for spaces larger than 1,000 m². Monitoring of CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and air quality. A building management system (BMS) is required for HVAC systems rated at over 290 kW.

2026

If your annual consumption exceeds 1 GWh: install PV on at least 10% of your roof, which amounts to 12.5 Wp/m².

2027

For 20 or more parking spaces: 1 charging station for every 10 spaces, or at least half of the parking lot must be pre-wired.

2030

BMS required for HVAC systems rated above 70 kW. All new covered parking garages must be equipped with solar panels. New construction must be zero-emission. PV share to 15%.

2025 and beyond

Mandatory renovation for the worst-performing buildings, with the goal of achieving a zero-emission building stock by 2050.

One Brain
for all your energy

J’Smart is a B2B load management system developed by Jansen Smart Solutions. It continuously measures your building’s consumption and generation and automatically adjusts accordingly, taking your preferences into account. This provides real-time insight into consumption, production, and storage, whether or not it is integrated with your BMS system. The system takes into account your solar production, your battery status, energy prices on the market, your grid capacity, your users’ behavior, and more.

You don’t have to do anything. You’ll just see the results on your dashboard and on your invoice—even for multiple buildings.

What this means for your business in concrete terms

Lower bill, without sacrificing comfort

You use energy when it’s cheap and store it when it’s expensive. Fully automatic. Up to 30% less energy consumption.

No costly grid upgrades

By smoothing out your peak demand, you can get more out of your existing connection. Peak shaving is the biggest source of savings for most customers.

Smart Charging Without Waiting in Line

All charging stations combined stay within your limit, with priorities set by user and charging scheduled for departure time. Visitors, employees, and company vehicles each have their own rules.

Ready for what’s to come

Monitoring, reporting, and management that already meet the requirements for 2025 through 2030. Thanks to AI predictions, we can anticipate both short- and long-term developments.

Insight Instead of Assumptions

Real-time dashboards, automated monthly reports by meter and by building, and alerts for anomalies.

One system, all brands

J’Smart is brand-independent. Your existing charging stations, inverters, and installations will remain in place.

Here’s how it works

at a distribution center

In a recently completed distribution center, Jansen Smart Solutions integrated the HVAC system, the electrical installation, and the individual units. By centrally controlling and optimizing the entire system, energy consumption in EPV mode was reduced by 30%.

3 Builders, 1 solution

For J’Smart, three experts combine their expertise: Jansen Smart Solutions builds and programs the control system, Jansen Energy Solutions installs the electrical backbone and charging infrastructure, and Jansen Technics HVAC-S turns your HVAC system into a controllable energy consumer. Together, we examine how sensors, controls, and cabling can be deployed as efficiently as possible. Where possible, we combine multiple functions into a single component to avoid duplicate sensors, extra cabling, and unnecessary devices. This approach results in an efficient and well-thought-out installation, with all the expertise under one roof, a single point of contact, and no disputes between suppliers if something goes wrong.

  • EBrand-independent. Works with the equipment you already have.
  • EFrom A to Z. Analysis, engineering, installation, programming, and follow-up.
  • EA single point of contact. No back-and-forth between suppliers if something goes wrong.

Our Three-Step Approach

Intake and Analysis

Together, we’ll review your usage profile, your energy contract, your systems, and your plans. From there, we’ll identify the realistic opportunities.

Pre-engineering and Quotation

We determine the appropriate sizing of the PV system and battery, identify your largest energy consumers, and design the system architecture. You’ll receive a well-reasoned proposal with an estimated payback period.

Rollout and Follow-up

Installation, remote and on-site programming, reporting, quality control, and further optimization after delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the payback period?

That depends on your consumption profile, your energy contract, and your existing systems. The returns come from five sources: energy savings, lower capacity rates, flexibility revenues, better utilization of your PV system, and optimization of your charging infrastructure. During the energy scan, we’ll calculate these figures specifically for your site.

How does J'Smart avoid high capacity costs?

The system continuously monitors your quarter-hourly peak and automatically switches off or shifts the load of appliances before your limit is reached. This is done based on priorities that you set.

Will this work with my existing charging stations and inverters?
Yes. J’Smart is brand-independent and communicates via open standards such as OCPP. In most cases, you can continue to use your existing hardware.
Can my building operate autonomously in the event of a power outage?
That’s possible through a microgrid configuration with battery storage. During the pre-engineering phase, we’ll assess whether that makes technical and economic sense for your site.
Can we participate in flexibility markets?
Yes. Because J’Smart centrally manages your consumption and storage, you can offer capacity to the grid operator and thus create an additional source of income.
What dashboards will we get?
Real-time monitoring of energy flows, KPIs, and alerts, plus automatic monthly reports by meter and by building. Also available across multiple sites.
Do you guys use AI or predictions?
Yes, for consumption forecasting, forecasting your PV production, and predictive maintenance. Thanks to AI-driven predictions, J’Smart knows in advance when production, consumption, and energy prices will rise or fall. This allows the system to use, store, or sell energy at the most cost-effective time.
Does this also work across multiple locations?
Yes, J’Smart is suitable for multi-site environments with centralized management.
