The Usual
Brussels
The Usual is a hybrid design hotel that combines comfort, well-being, and sustainability. Group Jansen was responsible for the renovation of the Brussels location and created a unique hospitality experience.
Challenge
The challenge was to integrate sustainability into every aspect of the design. From recycled furniture to solar panels and water-saving technologies, everything had to contribute to both an ecological and luxurious stay. Group Jansen also assisted in obtaining BREEAM certification.

Sustainable hospitality
The Usual is having renovations carried out by Group Jansen in both Antwerp and Brussels. The work in Brussels has now been successfully completed. Sarai Bervoets, CCO at Group Jansen, explains: “In an era of growing environmental awareness, sustainability is crucial in the construction sector, and hotels are no exception. Think of green roofs, solar energy, and water-saving technologies. Sustainable hotels are not only environmentally friendly but also offer a unique experience for guests who value responsible travel. At The Usual, we integrated sustainability into our design & build project, from drywall works to solar panels and the reuse of recycled furniture. We also helped them obtain BREEAM certification. Every Brussels hotel guest now enjoys a stay where quality, luxury, and ecology go hand in hand. In Antwerp, we are building a similar story.”
