Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria
Brussels
After 17 years of silence, the iconic Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria shines once again in the heart of Brussels. Group Jansen, together with Herpain, was responsible for the complete interior design of this five-star hotel, respecting heritage and focusing on contemporary luxury. From the ballroom with a glass dome to the penthouse with panoramic views: every detail exudes class and craftsmanship.
Challenge
The reconstruction of this monumental hotel was more than a renovation: it was a world-class restoration project. The challenge? Finding harmony between London design vision, Belgian standards, and Brussels heritage regulations. Group Jansen had to not only restore historical elements but also integrate modern techniques from wellness to energy efficiency. Thanks to close collaboration and re-engineering, the hotel once again became a model of timeless elegance.

A transformation with respect for history
The Astoria hotel has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, when it began as a small family guesthouse. For the World Exhibition in 1910, it underwent a transformation into a luxury hotel on the initiative of Leopold II. Winston Churchill, Bob Dylan and even the Belgian royal family have stayed here. And now, after 17 years of silence, it shines once again.
The magic is in the details
One of the absolute eye-catchers is the ballroom, crowned with a glass dome no less than 11 meters high. Together with Herpain, we managed to restore the original grandeur of this space, while preserving authentic details. The result? An impressive mix of historical charm and contemporary comfort. But that’s not all: the hotel features 126 refined rooms, including a penthouse suite with breathtaking panoramic views over Brussels. For those who want to experience the royal treatment, the royal suite is now also accessible to everyone.
Perfect Example of Innovation, Teamwork and Love for our Craft.
“The Corinthia project is a perfect example of what we at Group Jansen love to do: embrace historical architecture and transform it into something ready for the future. This hotel not only tells a story of luxury and refinement but also of teamwork, innovation, and passion for our craft.”
