Harol
Diest
The Harol headquarters in Diest has been given a complete makeover. What was once an outdated building from the seventies is now a modern and sustainable workplace. Group Jansen undertook the complete renovation and translated Harol’s ambitions into an inspiring environment that is ready for the future.
Challenge
The renovation of the Harol headquarters was no standard project. The challenge lay in combining expansion, modernization and sustainability within an existing structure. Harol needed more space, better technology and an image that fits their international ambitions. Group Jansen brought everything together in one integrated approach, supported by digital tools such as BIM and Dalux, and created a smart working environment that combines comfort, efficiency and ecology.

Sustainability as a Core Value
Our experienced craftsmen use their expertise to create a building that is not only functional and modern but equally important: aligns with Harol’s sustainability goals. The existing building was completely stripped, rebuilt, and expanded with a new construction section. All this with high-quality insulation and ventilation, the use of recycled and sustainable materials, and energy-efficient solutions. Think, for example, of rainwater recovery, automatic lighting, and even a wind turbine. The accompanying KNX home automation system ultimately automates everything in a smart way.
Space for Well-Being and Fun
The renovation not only included technical improvements but also created more space for well-being and collaboration. When walking through the building, the peace and quiet are immediately noticeable. A well-thought-out layout with acoustic partition walls creates an open feeling while providing all necessary privacy. An extensive seminar space allows larger groups to easily come together. Additionally, a new lunch and relaxation area, dubbed ‘Harol Café’, was established.
Digital Approach & Smooth Communication Provided Tremendous Confidence.
“What really distinguished Group Jansen was the digital approach to our renovation project. The use of highly advanced BIM models and the associated Dalux platform made it possible for us to digitally monitor every step of the process. That gave us a great deal of confidence from the start. Communication during the renovation was also very smooth as a result.”
